Arghya 2019: Cultural event at IUCAA on Sunday

PUNE: Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in association with Lalit Kala Kendra of Savitribai Phule Pune University and Upasana, a socio-cultural forum from Pune, will organise a cultural program on Sunday evening (December 8) between 5 pm and 8:30 pm.

On the occasion of Arghya 2019, annual event of Upasana, creative performances titled “Bishwa Bhara Praan”, will be conducted at IUCAA.

“Bishwa Bhara Praan is a line in Tagore’s works, which means – life permeating the universe. In this cultural program, there will be a composite outdoor as well as indoor programme with painters, dancers, singers and instrumental artistes performing in a festive set up as well as in the

Auditorium,” said the official notification.

There will be a dance program along with an event on painting, done by children at the entrance of the auditorium. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Chandrashekhar auditorium in IUCAA inside SPPU campus. A song and dance performance on “Cosmic metaphor and Tagore-Bishwa Bhora Praan” based on presentation of songs and narration along with scientific references will be organised by IUCAA & Upasana. A dance theatre presentation named ‘Chandra Rohini’ will also be performed by Lalit Kala Kendra, SPPU. The event will conclude with dance and music programs under the open sky, in IUCAA campus.
