IIT Tirupati bags ‘Swachh Campus’ award

TIRUPATI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Tirupati has bagged ‘Swachh Campus’ award from the central government by securing sixth place in these awards among all universities having AICTE recognition including IITs, IISERs and Central Universities across the country.

At a function held in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Secretary of Human Resources Development Ministry Mr Reddy Subramanyam has given away the award and meritorious certificate to IIT Tirupati Registrar A.V.B. Prasad and Prof N.N. Kishore.

IIT Tirupati Director Prof KN Satyanarayana has congratulated all the faculty, staff and students for their cooperation in achieving the distinction. It may recalled that the Union government appointed committees, which went through all the institutions to take identify the best Swachh campuses across the country. IIT Tirupati got the sixth place for maintaining Swachh campus.
